Description
In order to uninstall Team Server, all you have to do is open Control Panel and run the Windows Uninstaller. That said, there are some situations that might cause the following an error similar to this one:
After downloading, open the MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall troubleshooter and Click on “Next”.
Click On “uninstalling”.
It will open a list of the programs. In that you have to select “PortalIntfMsi”. If “PortalIntfMsi” is not present then select “TeamServer.msi” and Click on “Next”.
Then click on “Yes, try uninstall”. After this, troubleshooting will be completed here.
Then click on “Close”
Try to install TeamServer again.
If this does not work or you cannot install this software in your server, then you will need to do the second method, but be aware that it is much longer and time consuming than the first.
Method 2
Stop the Services running using the Services Applet
Using the Task Manager, stop the RepoSrvComm.exe, and RepoSrvEvents.exe
Delete the following local folder using the File Explorer (These are the default locations):
All entries for Team Server located in the C:\ProgramData\Package Cache. In order to find them you can hover over the folder to display the contents of the folder, like this:
All Team Server folders located in the C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp
All Team Server folders located in the C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp, includin any TeamServerBackup
Open Regedit and delete the following registries entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Idera
Any Team Server entry in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products
You will have to look into the InstallProperties to find which entries are related to Team Server, like this:
Team Server entries also include PortalInf entries in the registries.
Find and delete any Team Server or PortalInf entry in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. To identify the registry you will have to look at the Display Name of the registry:
Delete any registry here that has Idera Technologies Inc as Publisher
Find and delete whole Registry Folder located in HKEY_USERS\ S-1-5-21-3638444050-2130741905-180568962-1001\Software\Idera
(Optional) If the issue remains, you can always use the Search functionality in the Registries to search for missing entries within the registry. You can try searching for “IDERA” “ER /Studio” and “Team Server” entries
