When clicking on any of the features like ER Objects or Tools, you receive a warning saying “This feature is part of the ER/Studio Team server functionality”

There are many root causes for this scenario, but in a nutshell, it means that the license was not applied correctly. Maybe you selected the wrong Team Server edition (Professional vs Enterprise), that the registration limit for the license was reached or that the registration license file used is wrong. Also, the ERSTeamServer license type must be selected for the user trying to use these features. This is how your Licenses menu should look like:

This error most commonly happens because the ERSTeamServer license has not been associated with the TeamServer account you are using or that the license has not been registered properly. To fix this:

Another reason this happens is that the Registration Limit for your license was reached, in which case you might get an error like this one:

If that happens to you then please reach out to support at https://idera.my.salesforce-sites.com/embtsupport/ and they will help you increase the Registration Limit for you.
A similar thing can happen when using the Import from File option, where the License File might be accepted but it does not apply correctly. When using this option always make sure that the Registration Code matches the link you are using to generate the file and that it matches the file itself:

If the license is NOT applied correctly it will look like this:

If this happens to you, make sure to generate the License File again and reapply it.
One final note for people using trial licenses…
Once the Trial License is applied to Team Server expires, it will lead to this same error “This feature is part of the ER/Studio Team server functionality” error when you tried to access ER Objects, terms, etc. Even if you are logged in as the Admin user (Super admin).
This means Team Server is no longer activated and it is required to apply the retail license serial number for Team Server Core. The problem is that there is no easy way to remove a Trial License from Team Server. The simplest way is to:
If this does not work then you will need to Uninstall and Reinstall Team Server with the correct license file. From the Support team, we always recommend you using your Retail License and do not request a trial license to test upgrades.
