USER_PASSWORD_MISMATCH Error

Description

There is a problem when logging into the Repository with the Admin credentials. This can also affect Publications of diagrams in Team Server (More information on the ETLvar logs).

The following is the error message you might get from the Repository login screen:

Repository Log In Screen

The REPO_SERVER Component returned a PRIVILEGE_USER error with a severity of MEDIUM.  The Component specific Error was USER_PASSWORD_MISMATCH.

In the Publication page, diagrams might not Publish with a Partial Success Status.

The main reason why you might get this error on your machine is that Admin or the Windows Service Account password was updated or changed and needs to be adjusted in the Team Server Configurator.

Steps To Fix This

Before we start we have to identify each of the log file the Team Server application generates. These are:

  • The Team Server logs located in the C:\Idera\Idera Team Server 20.0\logs directory.
  • The ETLvar logs located in the C:\Idera\Idera Team Server 20.0\etlvar\log directory.
  • The Repository logs located in the C:\Idera\ERStudio Repository 20.0\logs directory.
  • The ERStudioLauncher logs with the following path C:\Idera\dera Team Server 20.0\PortalIntf\ERStudioLauncher.log
  • The Tomcat logs located in the C:\Idera\Idera Team Server 20.0\tomcat\log directory.

We can now start reviewing these:

  1. Look for ERStudioLauncher.log for the following error message or similar:
    1. ERROR CODE: 1330, ERROR MSG: The password for this account has expired.
  1. If no error can be found there, go to EtlvarLogs This will show you all the logs related to a DM1 opened. Once you open the latest log and open the <namesample>dm1_ERStudioExport.log inside the log

  1. In order to resolve this issue you will need to update the passwords in the Configurator. Open the Configurator and go to Step 4- Team Server Administrator Account then update Admin password there.
