Steps to Fix This

It is likely the user is not created in the Security Center in Data Architect or access is not properly set up for the user. Security of the Repository contents is managed by the Repository Administrator through the Security Center by creating and then assigning users particular Groups, Roles and Privileges. (Use Admin to make the change for your security center)

  1. To open the Security Center going to Repository > Security > Security Center.

Use the ER Studio Data Architect Security Center to add and remove users, groups, or roles. This gives you many options to allow different Users and Groups, varying levels of access to your Repository Projects, Diagrams, and Diagram objects.

Review the product documentation to make changes to your user as this should correct your issue.

  1. Please verify if the Active Directory folder is set properly for this particular user. In order to do so please try the following:
    • In ER/Studio Data Architect go to Repository > Repository Options.

Make sure this user has full permission of the folder showing in the Active Directory field. If not, you can change the directory to point to another folder. Just make sure they have permissions to access that location and also make sure it is pointing to a local folder.

Additional Notes

If there is a customer who has the Active File Directory is currently pointed to OneDrive or cloud service. The issue will only be resolved by pointing to a local folder. I’m including below our product documentation

The Active File Directory should be local to your machine and not located on a network shared with other users.
