SRTF Version Mismatch: This Version Of The ER/Studio Data Architect Client Cannot Connect To The Specified Repository Server

Description

Every time you try to login to Repository and/or Team Server through Data Architect the product shows the error:

SRTF Version Mismatch: This version of the ER/Studio Data Architect Client cannot connect to the specified Repository Server.

Symptoms

• You are unable to login to the Repository.
• You are unable to login to Team Server through Data Architect.

Root Cause 

This issue happens when you are trying to connect different major versions of Data Architect and Team Server.

Steps to Fix This

1. Confirm Data Architect version by going to the application and clicking on Help at top-right, then About.
2. Confirm Team Server version. While logging in on the application server, you can see it at the bottom-left.
3. Make sure both versions match the major version part. Future patches under the same major version will connect with no issues. See examples:
   • Data Architect v19.3.1 and Team Server v19.1.1 will connect with no issues.
   • Data Architect v18.5 and Team Server v20.1 will not connect.
   • Data Architect v19.1.2 and Team Server v20.0 will not connect.
   • Data Architect v20.0 and Team Server v19.1 will not connect.
   • Data Architect v20.0 and Team Server v20.1 will connect.
4. Install the corresponding version to be able to connect between products.
